For as long as humans have existed, salt has been an essential part in our daily diet. Have you ever heard the expression that someone is worth their salt? This derives from many generations ago when salt was given as partial payment for a persons wage. Natural Hand Harvested Sea Salt contains 84 trace elements and minerals. These elements, though small, assist in maintaining a healthy well balanced diet. When salt is refined, bleached then mixed with anti-caking agents, all of the natural trace elements have been removed leaving only Sodium Chloride. The human metabolism has not been designed to break down solely Sodium Chloride repeatedly over many years causing doctors to enforce strict "low sodium" diets. Although we cannot offer any medical advice, Natural Hand Harvested Sea Salt with its natural mineral content is not at all a major health problem today.
